INSPIRATION

My Sister Was My Hero.

She was extremely personable, funny, smart, and most importantly, influential. She encouraged every friend, colleague, and spouse to pursue their dreams and goals. With a few words, she made you feel like the impossible was attainable. My goal following high school was to pursue commercial art in the footsteps of one of my idols, Andy Warhol. My sister had other plans. She mentioned she “..didn't want to see me selling paintings outside of the St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans and that I should pursue Architecture” as a viable and more stable career path. In that brief moment, I was set on a path that changed my entire life trajectory. I didn't know exactly what an architect did, I knew no architects, I didn't even know of any schools of architecture but I knew that was what I HAD to do because she said to do it.
